SAT REMIX / REMIX PLUS

SAT-REMIX sis a modernisation technique that selectively modifies the composition of raw materials in the existing bituminous pavement and re-establishes its desired parameters.

SAT-REMIXtechnology comprises the following stages:

  • Pavement sampling followed by analysis and development of a formula for the balancing mixture.
  • Heating of the existing pavement using propane-fuelled infrared heaters.
  • Aeration and removal of the preheated layer.
  • Balancing mixture (and bitumen, if required) batching in the stirrer.
  • Mixing the components of the old pavement with a balancing mixture in a stirrer equipped with two reverse rollers.
  • Incorporation of the refined mixture using a vibrating beam.
  • Final thickening using a train of road rollers.

Technologia SAT-REMIX-PLUS technology allows the application of two pavement layers during a single roller train cycle using a "hot-on-hot" method and no intermediate bitumen fog spray application. In other words, the old pavement is remixed and refined with a surface course made of the new bitumenaggregate mixture (asphaltic concrete; SMA, etc.). SAT-REMIX ensures environment-friendly processes that reduce traffic shutdown time and save money thanks to the entire procedure of pavement renovation complying with "in-place" standards. Further economies result from a reduction in raw material consumption (100% utilisation of the existing pavement). Another quality consists in the reduction of the area of waste material dumpsites (by up to 20-30%) and the additional target safety that is expected by the users.

Other qualities of these technologies include:

  • Miscellaneous options of mix quality improvement,
  • Feasible for both large and small projects, thanks to adjustable earthwork ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 m and from 3.0 to 4.5 m,
  • Minor disturbance to traffic (one lane near the re-mixer is available for traffic),
  • Compliance with legal regulations concerning environmental protection and road operations.

The resulting pavement features good smoothness, high traction and excellent road adhesion. This ensures easy and safe driving.
